Animal Bite Workups

The environmental office is contacted once an animal bite is reported. Domestic animals are required by law to be quarantined for 10 days from the incident for the purpose of monitoring for signs and symptoms of rabies.

Water Samples

The environmentalist will come to the test location with a sterile container to collect samples of your drinking water from a spring or well. There is a $50.00 fee that is collected at the time of the visit. The test evaluates bacteria counts for coliform and E. Coli.  Test results are back within 2-3 working days. Food Manager Course

A certified food manager is required to be on staff each shift. The food manager and food handlers certification course is available online at the following link:
https://ky-alnchd.statecert.com.

Instructions for completing the course can be found at:
https://www.lcdhd.org/info-tools/food-certifications/

We have noticed a trend in our food inspections that many of the establishments do not have a nausea and vomiting kit. It is a critical violation on their inspection requiring us to do a follow-up 10 days later. The following link is available to purchase the required kit: https://www.amazon.com/Piece-Bodily-Fluid-Bloodborne-Pathogen/dp/B072LK6R4R/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2GKMRTRQMFY7Y&keywords=bodily+fluid+clean+up+kit&qid=1707488905&sprefix=bodilo+spill+kit%2Caps%2C80&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
